Solana (SOL) and XRP illustrated signs of consolidation today. Meanwhile, the global crypto market cap jumped slightly by 0.32% to $2.08 trillion.
Nonetheless, the total market volume saw a 0.77% decline in value to $66.35 billion today. However, DOGS and AAVE prices soared remarkably, sparking investor speculations. So, let’s take a closer look at the top cryptocurrencies by market cap and their price run today, August 31.
Crypto Prices Today Show Resiliency
The broader market today has prevented further downside movement, as illustrated by the global market cap and major crypto prices today. Notably, as the U.S. PCE inflation data for July came in lower than expected and unchanged at 2.5%, the market appears to be gradually gaining momentum.
Bitcoin Price Today
BTC price rested at $59,223 today, a gain of roughly 0.5% in the past 24 hours. The flagship token’s 24-hour lows and highs were $57,768.53 and $59,896.89, respectively.
BTC struggles to gain an upside movement as US spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to record outflows. As of August 30, the spot Bitcoin ETFs noted $175.67 million in outflows. This marks four straight days of negative flows, also aligning with BTC price’s recent turbulent movement.
Bitcoin’s dominance today rested at 56.14%, a 0.03% decrease over the past day.
Ethereum Price Today
Simultaneously, ETH price followed with a 0.2% gain in the past 24 hours, and the coin resting at $2,524. Ethereum’s intraday lows and highs were $2,432.83 and $2,539.92, respectively.
Intriguingly, spot ETH ETFs saw zero netflows as of August 30, per Soso Value data. This has further sparked speculations over the asset’s future price movements.
Meanwhile, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin was reported moving 800 ETH recently, sparking additional discussions across the global crypto community. Also, Vitalik denied selling any ETH despite his holding declining, adding a layer of intrigue to his transfers.
Solana Price Today
Simultaneously, SOL price witnessed a 0.3% dip at press time and was trading at $138.37. The coin’s 24-hour lows and highs were recorded as $132.45 and $140.45, respectively.
SOL’s weekly chart illustrated a period of sideways trading, adding to speculations on future movements. Also, Solana’s market cap rested at $64.56 billion today.
XRP Price Today
XRP price jumped 0.5% at press time to trade at $0.5651. The crypto’s intraday lows and highs were $0.5482 and $0.568, respectively. XRP’s weekly chart also shows a period of sideways trading, mirroring a consolidation. It’s also worth noting that XRP whales dumped hundreds of millions of coins amid recent volatility.

Dogecoin (DOGE) price slipped 0.3% over the past day to $0.1014. Further, Shiba Inu (SHIB) price rested at $0.00001398, trading within a tight range in the hourly time frame chart.
