The crypto prices today have regained a bearish market momentum after substantial gains witnessed in recent days. Bitcoin (BTC) cracked to rest at the $55K price mark, whereas Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and the broader market mirrored a waning price action.
The global crypto market cap saw a 5.19% plunge to $2.01 trillion today. However, the total crypto market volume increased 17.71% from yesterday to $64.19 billion, stirring a whirlpool of speculations.
Here’s a brief report on some of the top cryptocurrencies and their price movements today, July 8.
BTC price tanked 4.99% in the past 24 hours to rest at $55,122.17. The token’s 24-hour bottoms and highs were $54,321.02 and $57,971.83, respectively.
Bitcoin’s dominance saw a 0.07% jump to 53.85% today, underscoring the altcoin sector’s sluggish performance. The flagship crypto’s market cap rested at $1.09 trillion while writing.
Notably, amid this dip, Japan’s Metaplanet has bagged additional amounts of BTC, glimmering hope for future price movements
Meanwhile, the ETH price chart showed signs of a pullback, falling 5.62% to $2,880.37 today. Its 24-hour lows and tops were $2,826.48 and $3,051.20, respectively.
It’s worth noting that the anticipation of bolstered price movements builds up as spot ETH ETFs remain poised to launch shortly. Moreover, Ethereum scarcity has also increased, with on-chain data illustrating ETH accumulations undermining that of BTC.
The crypto SOL saw a considerable 7.97% dip in value to $130.79. Solana’s 24-hour lows and highs were $128.56 and $142.12, respectively, underscoring a highly volatile movement.
Simultaneously, the XRP price plunged 6.50% to $0.415 over the past day. Its 24-hour slumps and peaks were $0.4047 and $0.4448, respectively.
Dogecoin’s price saw an 8.75% fall to trade at $0.1021 today. Shiba Inu’s price dropped 8.70% to $0.00001547, aligning with the broader market trend.
Even the crypto PEPE, FLOKI, and BONK prices dipped 9%-14% at press time.
Intriguingly, this bearish market trend has made sure that there are no top gainers for the day. Meanwhile, the top losers are as follows.

Further, hourly time frame charts indicated that BTC and ETH noted slight gains, with a majority of the tokens following this movement. Crypto market enthusiasts continue extensively eyeing the tokens for further price action shifts.
