The famous Canadian rapper and singer Drake lost a $400,000 bitcoin bet that he made on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Drake had bet Jake Paul would win by a knock out against Tommy Fury. Earlier, Drake won nearly $1.2 million in bitcoin when he correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner.

 

Drake Could Have Cashed out $1.44 Million In Bitcoin

Drake posted a screenshot on Instagram showing his $400,000 bitcoin bet on Jake Paul with 3.6 odds. If Jake had defeated Tommy Fury, Drake would have won $1.4 million in bitcoin. YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s winning streak came to an end when Tommy Fury, the half-brother of Mike Tyson, defeated the social media influencer On Feb. 26, 2023, in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

The fight went down the wire as Fury won by split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73), despite Paul knocking Fury down in the eighth round. Before this match, social media influencer turned boxer had won all his six bouts before encountering Fury on Sunday. Before the fight, the famous popstar Drake placed a $400,000 bitcoin wager, roughly 17 BTC, on Paul defeating Tom by knockout (KO). Jake Paul congrats Tommy in a tweet later.

Jake Paul Blames “Drake Curse” After Losing To Tommy Furry

Jake Paul joked after losing the bout to Tommy Fury blaming Drake for his loss. “F***! This is Drake’s fault!” Paul said jokingly. “Drake, bro, why did you do this to me? No, it’s my fault. $400,000 is nothing to him – he has won a lot more money betting on me before. He’s probably about even now. Sorry, Drake, I’ll get that win in the rematch,” the fighter added.

Drake has a history of making large sports bets and losing them. One famous instance was when Drake bet on Conor McGregor in UFC 229, but McGregor lost the fight to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a very hyped matchup.
