It looks like Twitter’s former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk may be attending the upcoming Blockchain Futuristic Conference where Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 scaling protocol Shibarium will be officially launched.
A subtle tweet from Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama suggested that the SHIB team is likely looking forward to having Musk at the much-awaited event which will be held between August 13-17, 2023 in Toronto, Canada. The tweet was a response to a picture of the Tesla boss wearing a shirt with the inscription “I Love Canada.”
Early this month, Kusama said that his team would likely discuss and launch the long-awaited L2 Shibarium during the Blockchain Futurist Conference after several months of churning out updates in bits.
In addition to this, he confirmed that Shibarium will hold a multi-month hackathon as part of the conference. Shibarium is aimed at improving the scalability of the Ethereum network.
Its beta test went live on the mainnet sometimes in March and it was called ‘Puppynet’.
This L2 scaling solution was designed to enable developers build Decentralized Applications (DApps). It also allows the integration into real life businesses, and power projects with it. A few months after its beta test launch, Puppynet recorded 25 million transactions indicating a massive demand in the community.
At that time, the total blocks processed by Shibarium beta Puppynet exceeded 1.45 million. Also, the number of wallet addresses increased to 16.98 million. Based on data from PuppyScan, the total number of transactions on Shibarium beta Puppynet has increased to 33,886,822. The total number of wallets is at 17,063,134 while the total blocks processed has hit 1,925,518 at an average block time of 5.0 seconds.
As the date for the official launch of Shibarium draws closer, it is expected that the transactions rate and wallet addresses will keep growing.
Meanwhile, Musk has been indirectly promoting the dog-themed Shiba Inu. He recently made an unexpected mention of Shiba Inu meme coin in one of his tweets. It is also worth noting that the coin is gaining the attention of investors with projected price surge expected after the Shibarium mainnet launch.
