Elon Musk, the owner of the renowned X (Twitter) social media platform has teased a new feature that users appear to be welcoming with mixed reactions.
As a billionaire who engages with his community very promptly, Elon Musk responded to a user @cb_doge who shared contrasting graphics of both an X version with the current Blue checkmark for Twitter Blue users and one with a Black checkmark.
According to Elon Musk, the platform is soon going to have only a dark mode as he believes “It is better in every way.”
Generally, users of most applications are often at liberty to pick a dark mode as an option, should they require it. That Elon Musk wants to make the dark mode the predominant theme for the app might stir contention amongst the most prolific users of the platform.
One of these users is David Schwartz, the CTO of an American blockchain payments company who shared a tweet earlier seeking to know if he is the only one who does not like the idea of a dark mode for the renowned town square.
Elon Musk might be the owner of the X app, however, he is known to be democratic in some of the most pivotal decisions that will affect the majority of users. By setting such crucial precedent as creating a poll that made him change the previous blue bird logo of the social media platform to that of the Dogecoin meme, predicting whether or not he’d put the move to create the dark mode as the only theme for the firm up for a vote is a matter of time.
The transformation of the Twitter app to X has not come without its own challenges. The implementation has been froth with concerns as so many parts of the X app still point to Twitter. These features include the search icon as well as other attributions on the iconic app.
The implementation of these new app features are bound to be carried out in phases with the likely timeline of the dark mode update remaining unknown.
