On Tuesday, Eric Trump, son of former US President Donald Trump announced that a big announcement in the crypto and the DeFi sector is coming. With US elections in November approaching closer, candidates from both sides are keen to take the crypto political war to the next level.
Donald Trump’s Son Leaning to DeFi
The crypto leaning of Donald Trump’s son dates back months since members of the industry created a memecoin after the family name. While in 2022, Eric Trump noted that he has no affiliation with Trumpcoin as the memecoin was called, his tone is gradually softening.
Per the post on X he shared earlier, he noted that he has truly fallen in love with crypto and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). Though he gave no full contest in this regard, the big announcement is what many are now looking forward to.

President Donald Trump has made Bitcoin a crucial mainstay of his campaign. From appearing at the Bitcoin Conference 2024 to picking a pro-BTC VP JD. Vance, the Republican Candidate has continued to show his affinity to the industry.
As reported earlier, Trump recently revealed plans to sit out with Elon Musk for an interview. Though this might have strong connection to the coming election, crypto industry advocates are already pitching a BTC narrative. The industry needs as many positive news at this time, considering the serious volatility recorded in the past few days.
The Banter on Kamala Harris
The Eric Trump crypto comment came at a very strategic time. It comes as Vice President Kamala Harris announced her Vice Presidential pick Tim Walz.
Though the Kamala camp reportedly searched of a pro-crypto co-runner, the choice of Walz remains positive for some personalities. Notably, Tim Walz has no known crypto stance, however, he has a pro-regulation history. With many, many remain skeptical what his disposition to crypto would be.
