Uniswap V4 Projects Q4 Launch

According to an X post, the launch of Uniswap V4 is tentatively scheduled for the third quarter of this year. The protocol highlighted the fact that the momentum for the Uniswap V4 Upgrade has been growing tremendously.

The protocol noted that it expects the Uniswap V4 engine “should be the most rigorously audited code ever deployed on Ethereum—the roadmap below reflects a comprehensive plan to ensure this,” Uniswap posted.

For the roadmap, the first phase involved code freeze which is currently in progress. Per the description offered by Uniswap, this encompasses core code completion, testing, gas optimizations, and security enhancements. In this phase, all other peripheral details will be finalized before moving to the next level.

The next phase will be filled with comprehensive auditing by some of the finest auditing firms. There would also be an auditing contest within the Uniswap community. Afterward, Uniswap V4 will be deployed on testnets for the team to make observations. At the end of the day, final adjustments based on the feedback retracted, will be made to the Uniswap V4 code.

It is expected that the first two phases would have been completed by Q3 2024. Bearing this in mind, the complete launch of the offering to the Ethereum mainnet which would be phase three, will happen in Q3.

Major Upgrades In Uniswap’s History

Once rolled out, Uniswap V4 will ensure that developers can build customized Automated market maker (AMM) features directly on Uniswap without having to create a new AMM design. Beyond this capability, the protocol will facilitate developers’ access to deep liquidity as well as other existing features like concentrated liquidity in V3.

The Uniswap V4 is quite unlike the V2 introduced direct ERC-20/ERC-20 pools, flash swaps, and an improved price oracle. Ultimately, each version is an upgrade from the previous.

This news follows an initial update offered about the launch of Dencun Upgrade on Ethereum. It is noteworthy that the launch of Dencun on the mainnet is already set for March 2024.

A week ago, Tim Beiko of the Ethereum Foundation announced that the Dencun upgrade is scheduled for activation at slot number 8626176 and is estimated to happen on March 13, 2024. In preparation, Ethereum execution layer client Go Ethereum on February 9 released Geth v1.13.12, also called Edolus.
