Namada Proposes Partnership With Osmosis Labs To Enhance User Privacy

Namada, a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain, launches a proposal to collaborate with Osmosis Labs to enhance both platforms and grow their communities. The proposal, if successful, will see the two layer 1 blockchains cooperate in several areas including launching collaborative grants, and sharing developments and benefits with their users.
According to a team statement, this Monday, the proposal was made by Namada co-founder Christopher Goes on the Osmosis governance forum. Once the vote is open, Osmosis users will have an opportunity to vote on the partnership to strengthen the already close ties that the two companies already have, including the goal to provide enhanced privacy across multiple blockchains for their users.
“With this proposal, Namada aims to give thanks and to set the stage for future cooperation. I look forward to many opportunities for positive-sum collaboration between the Namada and Osmosis ecosystems, including collaborative grants funding, shielded actions, Ferveo, and more,” Goes said.
The new wave of Osmosis Labs’ partnerships
By leveraging the upgraded version of the zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, pioneered by Zcash, Namada offers users a secure and completely private channel to send all types of assets on the blockchain, including non-fungible tokens.
Namada includes shielded transactions, providing one unified shielded set to offer the best privacy guarantees for every individual user. This feature will allow $OSMO holders and Osmosis users to seamlessly benefit from both the privacy features of Namada and the trading capabilities of Osmosis. The collaboration with Osmosis Labs will introduce these benefits to $OSMO holders and users, allowing them enhanced privacy across multiple chains.
“Preserving privacy has never been more critical than it is today. We’re excited about this potential collaboration with Namada, as it would provide a mutual benefit to both networks — as well as our users — who deserve a private and user-friendly DeFi experience,” Sunny Aggarwal, Co-founder of Osmosis Labs said.
Notwithstanding, Goes added that the partnership between Namada and Osmosis will offer further benefits to $OSMO token holders, stakers, and liquidity providers who will be eligible for the upcoming Namada token airdrop.
Additionally, a collaborative grant fund will also be put in place to support developers and projects that enhance and provide benefits to both blockchain ecosystems. Namada will set up an ongoing ‘public goods funding’ to a grants pool that will be managed and run by the Osmosis Grants Program.
Strengthening the bond with Osmosis Labs
As alluded to, the partnership between Osmosis Labs and Namada is a step further in strengthening the relationship between the two companies. Previously, Osmosis Labs has partnered with Anoma, a Web 3 intent-centric protocol funded and developed by Heliax, which is the blockchain research and development firm behind Namada. Last year, Heliax and Osmosis Labs collaborated on Ferveo, a fast threshold decryption protocol for Mempool Privacy on BFT consensus blockchains.
“It’s been a pleasure working with Heliax on the design and engineering of threshold encryption, and shielded actions,” Dev Ojha, co-founder of Osmosis Labs said. “Heliax folks have been great thought partners on the core problems around blockchain design. I’m quite excited about potential further collaboration between the ecosystems on privacy technology, and protocol design!”
Notwithstanding, Christopher Goes has had a previous encounter and working relationship with the Osmosis Lab’s co-founders during their days working together at Tendermint Inc., a core contributor to the Cosmos network
