According to recent news, the cryptocurrency wallet manufacturer Ledger has collaborated with Tony Fadell, who is famous for his work as the creator of Apple’s iPod for the development of its new Ledger Stax hardware wallet. The firm has additionally produced images, information on price and specifications for their new Ledger Stax offering.
The new wallet, which is dubbed the Ledger Stax, comes with an E-Ink display that wraps around the device like a foldable display and stretches to the front of the wallet. This display allows users to readily examine their transactions as well as personalize the lock screen with any image or NFT artwork they hold in the wallet.
If you’re not aware of Ledger, the business creates USB-like hardware that enables offline storage of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. The Ledger Nano, which communicates with a customer’s phone and enables secure crypto storage and viewing, is the company’s flagship product.
Fadell further went on to state,
“We need user-friendly—no, a user-delightful tool to bring digital asset security to the rest of us, not just the geeks”
The Stax allows users to see and manage NFT collections and is compatible with 500 different cryptocurrency types. The wallet can be connected to a phone through Bluetooth for Ledger users, however, those who wish to take the utmost security precautions are best off using a type-C cable to link the wallet to a laptop.
Apart from Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity, a type-C port and a 3.7″ foldable touchscreen — the Ledger Stax also boasts features like wireless charging, live app support, embedded magnets and CC EAL5+ certified chip security system.
As per reports, the Ledger Stax will have a suggested retail price of $279, whereas the earlier versions, Nano S Plus costs around $79 and the Nano X wallet retails at around $149. Additionally, Ledger announced that they are currently taking pre-orders for the device, which will be made available by March of next year.
