Shiba Inu Lead Developer Teases New Product is Enroute
Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu ecosystem has teased a a new “physical” product may be launching soon. This doesn’t come as a surprise to many SHIB community members as Kusama had previously promised to provide “many updates” in addition to information about the official launch of Shibarium.

Shiba Inu Developers are Working Behind the Scenes
Sometime in May, the lead SHIB developer went on a long holiday of silence and when he eventually came out, he told SHIB Army that the team was busy with significant development behind the scenes. Hence, his silence was a symbol of his dedication to the upcoming project. No one knows for certain if his recent update is in connection with Shibarium but for now, all fingers are crossed.
Meanwhile, the Layer-2 Ethereum (ETH) scaling solution designed to allow developers build DApps has been in the works for a while now and its final launch is expected no later than August.
Kusama predicted that the Shibarium mainnet launch would likely happen in July while other members of his team are saying it would launch in August. Lucie, a Shiba ecosystem official estimated that the launch will fall into Q3 of 2023 due to some testing process and security audits that needs to be completed.
Most of these crucial steps are required to add an extra layer of security for customers’ funds on Shibarium. Pending its final launch, SHIB developers still have to design a firm version of the bridge and Swap on the testnet. Markedly, the Shibarium blockchain permits the integration of real-life businesses, and power projects with it and this is achieved at a low cost.
Shibarium Beta Testnet Goes Live
The Shibarium beta test dubbed “Puppynet” went live almost three months ago. This version, although, is a simulation of the real thing, has an interface with information about network stats, validator information as well as staking functionality. Barely one month after its beta testing went live, hundreds of companies had begun to indicate their interest in integrating the protocol.
Also, the Shibarium beta test has hit several milestones since it went live. Based on data from PuppyScan, it has reached a total of 21,335,629 transactions and onboarded 16,895,631 wallet addresses.
Shibarium beta testnet has 1,274,088 total blocks at an average time of 6.9 seconds.
