BitMine Strengthens Position As World’s Top Ethereum Treasury With $668M Purchase

According to Lookonchain data, BitMine increased its Ethereum treasury last week with a purchase of 153,075 ETH worth about $668 million. The addition raised its total holdings to 1,866,974 ETH, valued near $8.15 billion at present price. With the inclusion of Bitcoin and $635 million in cash, the company’s total crypto and cash position reached $8.98 billion.

The purchase confirms BitMine’s position as the largest Ethereum treasury worldwide and the second-largest overall corporate crypto treasury, behind MicroStrategy’s $71 billion Bitcoin stack. Last week, BitMine boosted its Ethereum treasury with $800 million in ETH.

In a press release, Chairman Tom Lee described Ethereum as one of the biggest macro trades of the next decade. He compared today’s opportunity to Wall Street’s transformation after the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1971. According to Lee, Ethereum’s role in finance and artificial intelligence could reshape global markets for decades.

Institutional backing has strengthened BitMine’s accumulation strategy. The company counts support from ARK’s Cathie Wood, Founders Fund, Pantera, Kraken, Galaxy Digital, and others. BitMine also launched The Chairman’s Message. This is a video series which would be released every month. In addition, it would be releasing the Alchemy of 5% every month, which is an investor presentation.

Sharplink Adds $176.7M In Ethereum, Alongside Growing Staking Rewards

SharpLink also expanded its Ethereum reserves last week, disclosing the purchase of 39,008 ETH at an average price of $4,531. The acquisition equals about $176.7 million, lifting SharpLink’s total holdings to 837,230 ETH. At the current price for ETH, the treasury is valued at approximately $3.6 billion.

The company funded part of the acquisition by raising $46.6 million through its at-the-market program. Since launching its Ethereum treasury in June, SharpLink has also generated 2,318 ETH in staking rewards. Its ETH concentration ratio now stands at 3.94, nearly doubling since early summer. The firm still holds more than $71 million in cash for future purchases. Before this purchase, SharpLink’s Ethereum treasury topped $3.7 billion following its 56,533 ETH purchase last week. The difference in value is due to the slight drop in the value of ETH.

SharpLink emphasized that Ethereum’s ability to generate staking yield makes it more valuable than passive treasury assets. The fast rise in the firm’s holdings reflects an aggressive accumulation strategy to improve its balance sheet and achieve long term growth.
