XRP Lawsuit News: The long running legal battle between U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple is yet to produce the crucial Hinman speech documents and related e-mails publicly. However, the commission has lost its assertions over the docs.
Attorney Fred Rispoli mentioned that by December 5, 2022 reply briefs of both parties will be publicly filed. However, these will be the redacted copies.
He suggests that the Hinman speech related emails can be produced publicly on the same date. Meanwhile, the court will decide on unredacted versions later in the month of December.
Stuart Alderoty, General Counsel of Ripple stated that after 18 months and 6 court orders later, they finally got their hands on the Hinman docs. He added that the defendants were confident about the legal arguments in the XRP lawsuit.
As per attorney James Filan’s schedule, the Parties will file omnibus motions to seal all materials linked to the summary judgment motions by December 22. This will eventually include statements, counterstatements, declarations and supporting exhibits in the XRP lawsuit.
After this parties file will file opposition motions to omnibus to seal by January 9, 2022. However, he suggested that District Judge Torres will be deciding both the Expert motions and summary judgment motion on the same day. However, this can any date before March 31, 2023.
