Anas HassanRecently, LBank announced a major milestone by establishing a new strategic brand partnership with Pudgy Penguins, officializing Pudgy Penguins as LBank’s Strategic Brand Partner. Since March this year, LBank has executed a series of high-profile collaborations with viral cultural icons, including Ponke, Nobody Sausage, Yeti, and Pudgy Penguins. This series of bold moves has led global media to hail LBank’s successful transformation into a next-generation, youth-centric exchange.
In this exclusive interview, CoinGape sits down with Muha, Head of Social Media and Community at LBank, to explore the untold stories behind their IP strategy, how LBank is crafting a new industry narrative, and their secrets to breaking through market noise.
To quote Homer’s The Odyssey—or the cinematic retellings we see on the big screen today: “Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story.” While everyone was chasing short-term trad-tech derivatives, we stopped to ask ourselves: Where is the soul of this industry?
We went back to four things: taste, originality, story, and whether anyone actually wants to share it. That last one is the hardest to fake and the most valuable. It draws in the outliers, the young minds sitting several standard deviations off the ordinary curve. Crypto naturally offers a massive risk premium for this exact uncertainty because this industry inherently rewards the brave.
Instead of fighting over crumbs in a tired, shrinking box, we chose to bake a bigger pie. We chose to bring the world in through culture. Testing new waters always comes with the threat of failure, but our record speaks for itself: while others got dragged down by uniform financial jargon, LBank broke the cycle, realized counter-cyclical growth in a bear market, and gave crypto a human heartbeat again.
If an exchange relies solely on follower counts, impressions, or past corporate rosters, it has already lost the core essence of Web3. We operate without a rigid, sterile checklist.
Our evaluation centers on three decisive pillars: Unique Cultural DNA, Community Cohesion, and Sustained Soft Power.
Attention is temporary. Stories compound.
Looking at Luca Netz’s transformation of Pudgy Penguins, an enduring cultural movement is never built on raw spreadsheet metrics. It is forged through the emotional resonance a character instills in people during the market’s most turbulent phases. We specifically seek out characters with an unyielding, organic vibe,IPs that trigger an immediate emotional connection and inspire their communities to defend them with conviction. Real culture is never calculated in a spreadsheet; it is validated by visceral human intuition.
We don’t do boring corporate “co-branding.” We orchestrate cultural collisions. When we launched our very first IP initiative, we swam against the tide with an “Anti-Rat-Race” narrative.
If other exchanges start working with IP, I see it as a positive validation that crypto is as much a cultural story as a financial tech story. However, there is a fundamental difference between copying a strategy’s format and reproducing the culture behind it. Competitors can easily mirror our campaign structures, visual language, or technical infrastructure, but they cannot fork the accumulated trust, creative history, and emotional connections forged within our communities.

I’ve come to view this edge as “IP liquidity”—the rare ability for an idea, character, or meme to flow organically across Twitter Spaces, campaign activations, product experiences, and long-term brand equity. You can copy code and interfaces, but you cannot fork culture or a community’s genuine belonging.
That is why we are building an IP super-factory rather than merely collecting partnership announcements, because the real moat isn’t the announcement itself, but everything you build and sustain long after it is made.
We don’t draw a line between brand narrative and business realities. Building culture isn’t a cosmetic exercise to make an exchange look “younger”—it is about cultivating deep-rooted user trust that naturally flows into active platform engagement and liquidity.
IP creates curiosity, products turn that curiosity into participation, and liquidity turns participation into scale. If you only have IP, you have fleeting attention without depth. If you only have products, you have cold utility without emotional connection. And if you only offer liquidity, you are in a race-to-the-bottom competing purely on commodity infrastructure.
The real magic happens when you weave these layers into a single flywheel. That’s why we reached over 25 million registered users in Q2, with our combined spot and futures trading volume hitting approximately $702 billion for the quarter. According to CoinGecko data, our derivatives trading volume grew by 10.47% month-over-month in July alone. IP isn’t just decoration resting on top of LBank; it is the wide-open front door welcoming the next generation into the crypto space.
Our product ecosystem rests on three core pillars: breadth of asset coverage, deep market liquidity, and maximized capital efficiency. We don’t just host liquid markets; we act as the premier gateway for early-stage discovery and institutional-grade access:
Alpha & Meme Discovery: We were among the first CEXs to list Robinhood Chain memes, with standalone tokens like PONS and WALLET drawing some of the strongest market response of any listing that month.
Tokenized TradFi & High-Leverage Innovation: Our TradFi suite bridges precious metals, global indices, and blue chip equities. The sector list is nine words of value and forty words of length. Cut it and the SK Hynix example lands harder.A prime example is our comprehensive SK Hynix suite: offering spot pairs (SKHYB, SKHYON) alongside derivatives (SKHY, SKHYNIX) with up to 25x leverage. According to CoinGlass data, our SK Hynix futures volume ranked #2 globally, trailing only Binance.
Next-Gen Web3 Infrastructure: In June, we launched our native Prediction Market platform, spanning sports, politics, and entertainment. Simultaneously, we introduced BK Genie, an AI Agent natively integrated into Telegram that enables seamless, one-click trading directly within social feeds without leaving the app.
Security is never a marketing slogan or a reactive measure, it is an uncompromising engineering discipline embedded into our architecture from day one.
Our newly launched Crypto Resilience Initiative scales up continuous AI-assisted threat monitoring, deep penetration audits, and real-time mitigation protocols. Back on March 5th, LBank officially secured the ISO 27001:2022 certification, establishing our alignment with the gold standard for global enterprise information security management. Long before launching our latest initiative, we collaborated with CertiK to operate an active Bug Bounty Program, inviting top ethical hackers globally to stress-test our smart contracts, API endpoints, and vault infrastructure.
By combining LBank’s four core security systems with third-party support from organizations including CertiK and SlowMist, this initiative ensures our technical architecture can withstand evolving threats, such as cross-chain attacks and AI-driven attacks. We are building an impregnable fortress, allowing users to confidently explore innovative and high-yield potential assets.
We live in an era of convergence. Institutional capital through ETFs provides the macro floor, while AI and Web3 native cultures provide the ceiling.
LBank stays ahead by acting as a bridge. We don’t sit passively waiting for macro cycles to dictate our destiny. When the market is quiet, we build cultural moats and onboard real human users. When the macro tailwinds hit, our deep liquidity and diverse asset ecosystem allow our users to capture maximum beta across AI agent tokens, Memes, and real-world asset (RWA) primitives.
We are currently standing at a pivotal inflection point in crypto history. While liquidity may appear partially depleted on the surface, what is actually happening underneath is the awakening and metamorphosis of a new generation.
The crypto market is shifting away from pure speculation on internal digital assets toward meaningful connections with the outside world—whether through Real-World Assets (RWA) or AI integration. Crypto has not entirely shed its speculative shell, but beneath that speculative layer, an increasingly robust and complete infrastructure is taking root.
Like Odysseus navigating through chaotic seas toward home, our industry is defining its true destination. I remain forever optimistic and forever crypto. The next wave won’t just be driven by financial engineering, but by Consumer Web3—products, brands, and IPs that everyday people love to use. LBank will continue to be the tip of the spear, building a playground where culture, security, and financial freedom meet.
