New updates are here

With the Zilliqa Mainnet launch coming up in the next quarter, the team is aggressively working on the next version of its Testnet. In its official blog post, Zilliqa team talked about the developments going on for the next version of Testnet along with Scilla.

Scilla is basically a new smart contract programming language developed by Zilliqa which “aims to be developer friendly and more secure than Solidity (the programming language of Ethereum).”

Thye goes on to explain the completion of “implementation of view-change” protocol with new view-change blocks in DS committee. This will allow the timely replacement of a “malicious or non-functioning leader” by notifying a timeout.

Furthermore, the

“integration of account storage with smart contracts” has been achieved by refactoring the AccountStore class into polymorphism pattern. Also, a temporary AccountStore data structure has also been implemented along with separating “the logic of handling accounts from the ones for persistent storage.”

They also shared the development on the DecOps side, that involves refactoring testnet deployment script for better maintainability”. It further has the integration of “Zilliqa Explorer application to (our) Kubernetes-backed internal testnet along with other developments.

“A lighter implementation of a full application binary interface (ABI) generator” has been introduced for the client side. With this, one will be able to sign contract-related transactions, deploy a smart contract, and transfer funds.

The team shared their excitement of upcoming testnet with,

“We are very excited to soon share with the world the next version of our testnet, which will allow users to actually begin testing smart contracts.”

Apart from the network updates, Zilliqa attended several conferences and events and represented the cryptocurrency. Zilliqa has been making serious contributions towards its scalability which has this cryptocurrency so popular.

In April, during the time its testnet was released, ZIL price took the surge of over 30 percent. From 41st rank, the journey of Zilliqa to the 26th position now has been a gradual increase till May. After which it went through a lot of ups and downs.

According to Coinmarketcap, ZIL price is at $0.1 with a loss of 1.24 percent in the last 24-hours. With a market cap of $738 million, its daily trading volume is $42 million.
