According to the developer’s statement on X, the airdrop looms between this Friday and Wednesday. This process, marking a paradigm shift, can’t happen all at once, while it brings utter merriment to the broader crypto market and its participants, as per Leonidas’ statement.
In a post shared earlier on X, the developer revealed that the Runestone airdrop progress had reached 90%. Aligning with this, today’s remarks fueled curiosity. Meanwhile, it was also previously revealed that 112,383 addresses are poised to receive their Runestone in the largest Ordinals airdrop ever.

RuneAlpha, Rune’s block explorer, has joined Runestone 0.15 BTC donators to wrap up network fees for inscribing/distribution. All RuneAlpha and Cook holders are further jacking up Runestone, aiming to help it grow better on the Bitcoin network. While in response to this, an additional 7000 addresses will receive Runestone.

Thousands of Bitcoin Ordinal wallets remain posed to receive their Runestone airdrop as Bitcoin witnesses halving at the block height of 840,000. However, Leonidas proclaimed that the abovementioned Ordinal inscription serves no utility but stages as a memento of the first year of Ordinals’ existence.
At present, Ordinals tallies up for significant Bitcoin network activity. It substantially catapulted block size and resulted in increased transaction fees. This provided miners with enough rewards, while mining difficulty surpassed the 81 trillion mark.
