Free speech advocate and Tesla owner Elon Musk has indirectly taken a jab at OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini for being platforms that “could end civilization.”
The conversation started with a TED talk by NPR CEO and president Katherine Maher, who explained to her audience how the truth is subjective.
She went on about how the truth could mean different things to different people at the same time. In response to this talk, 59-year-old Canadian Professor Gaad Saad pointed out that the phrase “truth is subjective” appears to be the bedrock of postmodernism.
“This is why I refer to it as the granddaddy of all parasitic idea pathogens,” the John Molson School of Business Professor added.
On the other hand, Elon Musk subtly voiced his displeasure about the entire subject. He strongly believes that programming such ‘truth’ either explicitly or implicitly into a super powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool could be disastrous to civilization. Unfortunately, he thinks OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini are already programmed with such information.
Apart from the fact that Musk is a core believer in ‘one truth’, his slam on the two popular Large Language Models (LLMs) is likely a strategy for him to promote the capability of Grok, his AI chatbot.
Speaking of the NPR CEO, he even said “The software running in her head is the anti-Grok – hates truth & humor.”
Competition in the AI world is growing remarkably. Grok has demonstrated proficiency in finding new airdrops, explaining complex protocol functionalities, and even crafting witty social media “roasts” based on users’ posts amongst other functionalities. One of its achievements is producing a stand-up script “roasting” social media content by @DeFiIgnas.
It has also successfully outlined the core milestones of the Frax (FRAX) stablecoin project roadmap, showcasing its potential to provide comprehensive insights into specific projects.
Three days ago, Elon Musk revealed an updated version of the AI chatbot tool, Grok 1.5. This updated version has the potential to work with visual data. Notably, the enhancement is aimed at documents, drawings, graphs, snapshots, and images. Out of all its enhanced capabilities, the RealWorldQA module is the key feature crafted to improve the chatbot’s understanding of real-life pictures.
