Newegg Finally Confirms that it will Accept Shiba Inu Payments

The Electronic Retail giant, Newegg that received considerable positive traction after speculations about the addition of Shiba Inu (SHIB) Payments, has now made an official announcement confirming rumors. The company took to Twitter, and confirmed that SHIB payments have now become a reality at Newegg, allowing the customers to make purchases using SHIB, Monday onwards. However, it is unsurprising given Newegg’s history of being pro-crypto in its decisions.

Earlier this month, CoinGape had reported on Newegg’s encrypted tweet, pointing towards the addition of Shiba Inu, where the electronics retailer had tagged the developer Shytoshi Kusama, along with SHIB’s official Twitter account, seeking a conversation. As a result of the tweet, the Shiba Inu community on Twitter flooded the market with speculations about how another commercial giant will be enlisting $SHIB for payments. Furthermore, Shiba Inu ($SHIB) and Dogecoin ($DOGE) rivalry will become more prominent as Newegg accepts both cryptos for payments now.

Shiba Inu’s Commercial Dominance

The pro-crypto retailer also accepts the OG Bitcoin, along with other tokens including Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ether, Wrapped BTC, Dai, and stablecoins like BUSD, USDC, GUSD, and PAX. Following its crypto supporter strategy, Newegg has managed a reserve a spot in the headlines including commercial news about Black Friday offers. In the month of November itself, Newegg has made multiple crypto-positive announcements, such as the incorporation of its Black Friday crypto discount. The retail giant announced a 20% discount on products paid for in cryptocurrency via BitPay, in several countries including, the UK, Australia, the UAE, and others.

However, Newegg is not the first commercial giant to opt a pro-crypto strategy. Recently, the largest movie theatre chain in the United States, AMC also confirmed to accept Shiba Inu payments. Just few weeks ago the AMC CEO, Adam Aron tweeted that Shiba Inu can be used for online crypto payments for movie tickets and concessions at AMC.
