Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solana has broken the silence on what he is working on for the broader Bored Apes franchise. Taking to his official X account, Solano said his update is based on his 10-day check-in to hold himself accountable.
What is Going on With Yuga Labs?
Since it made way with its launch and assumed the position of the biggest digital collectible franchise in the industry, Yuga Labs has been making an attempt to float working products. While Solano said the firm is not at the appropriate depth and command of the product yet, he named the key updates he is excited about.
The first project he mentioned is the ODK, touted as the best way to build and monetize a 3D game or social experience in crypto. The updates indicates a majorly game-centered innovation going on at Yuga Labs.
10 day check-in. to hold myself accountable:
am still not back to an appropriate depth and command of product yet
stuff I’m excited about though:
-ODK: The best way to build and monetize a 3D game or social experience in crypto
-Project Dragon: Thousands shooting each other… https://t.co/VYRMN1dfPb— Garga.eth (Greg Solano) 🍌 (@CryptoGarga) May 26, 2024
The Web3 firm is also working on Project Dragon, a shooting game Solano said is set in one of the world’s most absurd team fighting plot. The Yuga Labs boss confirmed that the game is being designed with the same toolset it is using to build ODK.
Besides the other “brand expressions” the firm is working on, Solano also unveiled the ApeFest. This is an event where thousands of Bored Apes owner from 56 countries will be gathering at a 15th Century Monastery. To make this event special, Solano revealed that merchs will be created and distributed to as expected.
To further bring additional value into the Yuga Labs ecosystem, Solano revealed that the team is exploring BAYC integration with other physical goods.
Expanding Digital Collectible Influence
Yuga Labs has been in the news lately with the recent layoff of some of its staff in a major restructuring move. In addition, the project announced an enhanced Non-Fungible Token (NFT) holders’ rights to empower its users the more.
While it is looking at restructuring its business, it has hinted at gaming as one of the most important gateways to dominate the scene. It is developing Dookey Dash, a simple to play game that will come with a tournament that might reward players with $1 million.
In all, Yuga Labs is looking to expand its partnerships so it can onboard more games that can drive user’s interest.
