XRP Up by 4 percent amidst slow moving market
There has been a lot of good news this week for the XRP community. If we take a look at the XRP price, at the time of writing it has been trading at $0.449 with a rise of 4.19 percent in the past 24 hours.
The world’s 3rd largest cryptocurrency, XRP joined the other cryptocurrencies as bulls entered and went above the $0.51 level. However, in tandem with the majority of the coins, it also went down.
As the chart shows below, today XRP registered a decent upward momentum while the market was running in the red.
XRP as the base currency on DCEX and Unocoin exchanges
A San Francisco-based crypto exchange that offers crypto-to-crypto trading is using XRP as the base currency. Launching in the coming days, the idea behind using XRP is explained with, “XRP blockchain transactions typically settle in under four seconds, allowing for faster multi-exchange strategies and providing a speed advantage over other money movement options”.
Furthermore, the exchange is planning to offer the investors the benefit of low transaction cost. They are planning to launch the exchange with 15 trading pairs where XRP would provide, “new conversion pathways for market participants and gives traders easy ways to access many of the top cryptocurrencies.”
Apart from this exchange, an Indian crypto exchange is also offering crypto-to-crypto trading with XRP as the base currency.

According to the XRP’s recent report by the Chief Market Strategist of Ripple Cory Johnson, “Malta — not South Korea — is now the leading trader of #XRP.”

In terms of acquiring new customers, Ripple registered one of the best quarters through the sale of XRP has declined.
A special mention is to Roger Ver who retracted his statement about XRP addresses being freezable and praising David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO.
