After somehow managing the highly-anticipated Arbitrum airdrop on March 23 despite technical issues, the Arbitrum team faces challenges of hacks and thefts impacting its users. Many notable crypto community members revealed that Arbitrum’s official Discord server is currently compromised.

CertiK, a blockchain security, in a tweet on March 25 warned the community about a phishing link posted in the Arbitrum Discord server. The firm recommends the community to avoid clicking on any links until the Arbitrum team regains control of the server.

“We are seeing reports that a phishing link has been posted in the Arbitrum Discord Server. Do not click on any links until the team has confirmed they’ve regained control of the server.”

WickdNFT, the founder of HideoutNFT, tweeted that a developer of Arbitrum was suspected of being hacked and posted a phishing link in the Discord community.

ServerForge founder with the pseudonym Plumferno also shared that the attacker asks the community to re-claim an additional stake in Arbitrum DAO governance as some claims were missed during the initial token claim.

While the Arbitrum team may have taken back control, the possibility of it happening again is higher due to state of their server security. Good Knight bot would have prevented this from happening in the first place itself if the security is strong.

Meanwhile, Arbitrum users face hacks and security issues such as when a hacker used hacked vanity addresses to steal $500,000 worth of ARB tokens during the Arbitrum airdrop.

At the time of writing, the ARB price is trading at $1.21, down 20% in the last 24 hours. The trading volume has fallen as most users have sold their tokens.
