Yes, it is official. There is now an online school for Bitcoin. On December 29, 2020, Switzerland-based organisation Bitcoin Association launched Bitcoin SV Academy, an educational platform dedicated to providing university-style courses about subjects relating to Bitcoin.
The online courses include Bitcoin Theory, Bitcoin Development and Bitcoin Infrastructure and are offered at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels. Bitcoin SV Academy is committed to allowing the widest audience possible access to education about the original Bitcoin and is offering introductory level courses for free.
“Education is a cornerstone of the work we do at Bitcoin Association, as we help businesses and individuals alike understand the Bitcoin system envisioned by Satoshi Nakamoto, and how Bitcoin SV is the only project implementing that Satoshi Vision,” Jimmy Nguyen, Founding President of Bitcoin Association, said about the launch.
Dr. Craig S. Wright, is currently the Chief Scientist at nChain, a global provider of public blockchain solutions. Bitcoin SV (BSV), with SV standing for Satoshi Vision, is fully supported by Dr. Wright after it separated from Bitcoin Core (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) because they decided to deviate from the original design of Bitcoin being scalable and having a fixed and stable protocol so it could transcend its status of cryptocurrency and become a global technology businesses can build on.
Because of the split and with Bitcoin Core retaining the original Bitcoin ticker symbol of BTC, most believe it is the original. However, that is so far from the truth. This is why Bitcoin SV Academy was created—to provide the public with Bitcoin education based on accurate information.
“The most important piece of infrastructure that Bitcoin can have is access and availability of education – not only does it broaden the pool of talent available to work and build with Bitcoin, but it also helps to spread awareness of what Bitcoin as an entire technology system can do and is truly capable of.
