To be more precise, by the end of January, most analysts expected only two additional rate hikes of 25 bps. Yet, markets now indicate a 27% possibility that the Fed would hike interest rates by 50 bps (to 5.25–5.50%) next month. The US economy is still doing well, and inflation is too high. After the news, Bitcoin and Ethereum saw a 24hr surge of 1.44% and 1.51% to $24,541 and $1,671.
