Today’s crypto prices are predominantly in the red, with some altcoins bucking the trend. The most significant development is Bitcoin’s plunge to the $68K mark, a substantial drop after yesterday’s $70k. Ethereum also experienced a significant decline, falling below $3,900. Solana, on the other hand, saw slight gains within the altcoin sector, while others showed a downward price trend. In the meme coin sector, Shiba Inu, BONK, and FLOKI emerged as the winners.

It’s worth noting that the global crypto market cap was down 0.58% to $2.57 trillion today, May 28. However, the total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours saw a significant increase, up 43.08% to $87.7 billion, indicating a surge in trading activity.

Following yesterday’s topping of the $70K mark, today, Bitcoin’s price once again illustrated its characteristic volatility, aligning with the token’s re-accumulation phase. It slipped 1.29% in the past 24 hours to $68,139.23. The 24-hour lows and highs were recorded as $67,746.41 and $70,597.88, respectively.

Notably, BTC boasted a market cap of $1.33 trillion, whereas the 24-hour trading volume was recorded to be $28.17 billion.

Ethereum, on the other hand, also traded with high volatility in the past 24 hours. Despite the recent approval of a spot ETH ETF, the token seems to be struggling to gain a significant upside momentum.

ETH traded at $3,832.82, down 2.37% in the past 24 hours. The 24-hour lows and highs were recorded as $3,826.20 and $3,973.56, respectively.

Meanwhile, the SOL crypto noted gains worth 0.72% as of writing, trading at $166.73. The 24-hour lows and highs were registered as $164.07 and $171.99, respectively.

The Ripple Labs-backed token XRP has experienced a 0.78% dip in the past 24 hours and is currently resting at $0.5274. Its 24-hour lows and highs are $0.5238 and $0.5399, respectively.

Also, Shiba Inu, the Dogecoin rival, experienced a 1.16% upsurge from yesterday, standing at $0.00002488. Simultaneously, FLOKI and BONK, renowned dog-themed meme coins, emerged among the top gainers for today.
