ZachXBT Sued For Defamation

ZachXBT received the lawsuit (attached below for reference) from MachiBigBrother, accusing him of defamation. However, Zach firmly believes the lawsuit is baseless and merely an attempt to stifle free speech. This situation exemplifies the power dynamics at play, with Machi’s significant wealth being used to intimidate and silence a detective who lacks similar financial resources.

The article that led to the lawsuit, titled “22,000 ETH Embezzled and Over Ten Projects Failed: The Story of Machi Big Brother (Jeff Huang),” delved into alleged financial improprieties and the failure of multiple projects associated with MachiBigBrother.

Zach adds to his Twitter thread:

It is sickening to see it come to this but I knew one day this would happen as the price of telling the truth is sometimes people dislike what you say. I have always kept my research as objective as possible and let the data and historical record speak for themselves.

Plea For Free Speech

Recognizing the financial burden that comes with defending against a defamation lawsuit, ZachXBT has created a donation address to seek assistance with the associated legal costs. The potential expenses could easily exceed $1 million USD, and any contributions would help ensure that free speech is not silenced.

The donation address, provided as ETH: 0x6eA158145907a1fAc74016087611913A96d96624, welcomes donations in various EVM chains, with stablecoins being preferred.

Justin Sun did a donation of 10k TUSD to Zach and wrote:

Despite not being a legal expert myself, I highly value Zach’s substantial contributions to blockchain security and his crucial role in guiding our users to safeguard their funds.

ZachXBT’s plea for support echoes the sentiment expressed by Elon Musk,  who recently voiced his support for free speech at the Viva Technology event in Paris, France. It is through collective efforts and standing up for what is right that we can protect the truth and fight against the suppression of free speech.
