This project has no official roadmap because it functions as its community decides using their voting rights. All of the XTZ token holders decide on the necessary network upgrades beforehand.

Here’s a glimpse of some important events that occurred in this project’s lifecycle:

• Arthur Breitman published not one but two white papers outlining the project in August 2014 under the pseudonym L. M. Goodman.
• The cryptocurrency, meant to survive through constant evolution and adaptability, was launched through an ICO in July 2017. Tezos’s ICO ended up gaining around $232 million in total.
• The beta network for Tezos launches in June 2018. Later on, by September, the Tezos team upgraded this network to the Mainnet.
• The multimillion-dollar crypto project underwent its first and historic self-amendment protocol, abiding by the voting procedures, in June 2019.
• In 2020, the project settled a class action lawsuit with Block & Leviton for $25 million.
• March 2020 saw the release of Carthage 2.0, an update aiming to increase the gas limit for this cryptocurrency. In May, Coinbase UK added support for XTZ.
• One of the biggest names in the gaming industry, Ubisoft, integrated non-fungible tokens into its games via the Tezos blockchain in 2021.
• In 2022, this crypto project saw the launch of the Allbridge cross-chain bridge in November.
