Ripple Partners with Web3 Salon: Details
According to an official X post, the project will provide financial support for startups, fostering growth and innovation on the XRP Ledger. In a broader context, the collaboration aims to bolster Asia’s crypto industry and blockchain ecosystem.
Notably, Web3 Salon is a project backed by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and powered by the Asia Web3 Alliance Japan. As part of Ripple’s 1 billion XRP initiative and the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund, this project provides holistic support, including financial, technical, and business resources, to XRPL builders. RippleX Senior Director of Developer Growth Christina Chan states,
Ripple is proud to collaborate with Web3 Salon to unlock new opportunities in Japan’s thriving startup ecosystem. Together, we hope to fuel innovation and support the next generation of leaders.
It is noteworthy that the move comes amid anticipations of the imminent XRP lawsuit settlement as the SEC’s 60-day window is nearing its end. Japan has always been at the forefront of crypto developments. Recently, much hyped USDC issuer Circle partnered with SBI holding to launch stablecoin USDC in Japan.
Why Is Japan Crucial for Ripple?
Japan stands out globally for its clear regulations and robust consumer protection. Ripple has already partnered with major players like SBI Holdings, HashKey DX, and Mercari. This latest collaboration has further strengthened the company’s presence in Japan.
80% of Japanese banks are expected to adopt Ripple’s XRP by the end of 2025. Thus, the company is poised to further boost XRP adoption in the region, focusing on payments, supply chain finance, Web3, NFTs, and startup funding.
Hinza Asif, President of Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, noted,
Japan is one of the most exciting and challenging markets for Web3 and blockchain adoption. Through this partnership with Ripple, we aim to support visionary founders and strengthen the bridge between global innovation and Japan’s tech landscape.
Recently, Japan faced its biggest economic turmoil, driven by Trump’s trade war. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba asserted that the country was going through an economic crash “worse than Greece.” Ripple’s alliance with Web3 Salon offers a beacon of hope for Japan’s economic future, harnessing the power of blockchain to drive growth, innovation, and global connectivity.
