Crucial Hearing For Crypto Markets

Susan Friedman, head of policy at Ripple stated that the upcoming House Financial Services Committee hearing is an important event for the crypto industry. She mentioned that a hearing held by House Committee on Agriculture is equally crucial for the market.

A Congressional hearing on the future of digital assets has been scheduled for June 6, 2023. It is done in order to provide clarity around crypto spot markets. It is important to note that Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) lands under the House Agriculture Committee’s jurisdiction. The top financial watchdogs, CFTC and SEC have been quite active in pushing regulatory charges around the digital assets linked firms. Meanwhile, the authority has been alleged of not providing clear rules for the market.

With so much happening in the crypto industry, this crucial hearing comes in just a month before the much anticipated release of Hinman documents. Ripple Labs and SEC filed a joint letter in the court requesting a one week extension until June 13 to file public and unredacted versions of the crucial docs.

These vital documents also include unredacted versions of cross-motions for summary judgment and accompanying exhibits in the XRP Lawsuit.
