Ripple Lawsuit: When Will Dispute Over Hinman Docs Be Resolved?

The SEC vs Ripple lawsuit proceedings has increased curiosity around the revelation of crucial Hinman Emails and related documents. However, there are still many disputes pending in the case. Amid, increasing uncertainties Attorney James Filan has shared the updated schedule of the case.

Is Ripple Lawsuit going in the right direction?

As per James Filan, motions to seal the opposition portion have already been fully briefed. However, these motions have been fully briefed. The motion to seal portions of the exclusion motions replies has to be filed by September 9, 2022. He added that filing a response to those objections to seal will be submitted by September 16, 2022.

Meanwhile, the decision over Hinman documents is still pending. The battle over SEC’s assertion regarding DPP and Attorney client privilege remains unresolved in the Ripple Lawsuit. However, the matter is already fully briefed, still, the defendants await a decision by the district Judge Torres.

Attorney mentioned that there is an option of taking a DPP appeal or petition to the second circuit. In case if SEC loses its assertion before the court then it might look to submit an interlocutory appeal. However, this process will take time.

Hinman docs to come out?

He believes that the public is very long away from getting the sight of the Hinman docs in the Ripple Lawsuit. However, it is difficult to predict when it will come out. Filan added that he will stick to its predictions of the verdict date.

According to Filan, Judge Torres will draw results over expert motions and summary judgment motions around March 31, 2022. While he remains skeptical over the revelation of Hinman docs in the Ripple Lawsuit.

Earlier, John Deaton, Amicus Curiae in the Ripple Lawsuit, hinted that summary judgment will include the comparison between XRP and Ethereum. However, he expects that it will also include the data around as early year sales vs present day sales. While it may also include direct sales and secondary sales.
