Shibarium, the Layer-2 network for the Shiba Inu platform faced a temporary outage affecting the platform’s operations and user experience. This development comes just at a time when the Shibarium transaction count witnessed a 160% surge last week.
Quick Recovery From Shibarium Outage
Shiba Inu ecosystem’s prominent developer Kaal Dhairya provided a further update stating that the outage typically stemmed from networking issues taking place among Shiba Inu validators. Validators are responsible for confirming transactions on Shibarium while upholding the network integrity.
Dhairya added that the issue which lasted a few hours, has now been resolved. However, there are still a few Shibarium-related services such as external RPCs (Remote Procedure Calls), and Shibariumscan, the network’s official block explorer, have been experiencing downtime.
Dhairya further added that these two services might continue to face downtime for some more time as developers work on implementing crucial fixes in the meantime. The developer has requested that all external developers involved in Shibarium’s infrastructure reach out to him to streamline communication through shared channels on Telegram and Slack.

Shibarium’s history with network outages has been vast ever since its inception and launch last year in August 2023. Shortly after its launch, Shibarium encountered a technical glitch causing its mainnet RPC to go offline. This forced Shibarium to move into private mode causing developers to work round the clock.
Despite the recent outage, the Shiba Inu (SHIB) price hasn’t faced much selling pressure. At press time, SHIB is trading 2.78% up $0.00002704 and its market cap crossing $16 billion.
UI Upgrade for Layer-2 Platform
Shiba Inu has unveiled a significant upgrade to its Shibarium UI, aimed at enhancing speed and accessibility for users. The updated interface now boasts expanded wallet compatibility, including integration with MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and various others.
With these improvements, Shibarium promises a smoother and more intuitive experience for all users. By prioritizing user-centric design and streamlining platform performance, the upgrade represents a significant step forward for Shiba Inu in providing a frictionless environment for its community.
