UFC Fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov Joins NFT Mania, Launches His Own NFT Collection

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the undisputed lightweight former UFC champion with a 29-0-0 record has become the latest celebrity to join the growing NFT mania and announced the launch of his own NFT collections today.

The NFT collection would comprise of three tiers of cards namely Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, where the Diamon version would be unique and only one would be ever made. The official page also suggested that all unsold cards would be burnt.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a Russian mixed martial artist with a record of being the longest UFC lightweight without a defeat. His phenomenal record as the popular mixed martial artist in UFC history would surely reflect during the auction of these NFT cards.

NFT Mania has Attracted Celebrities From Various Backgrounds

NFTs were first launched in 2018 to be used as a fan engagement ecosystem offering tradable cards in digital form and its primary use case was seen in the virtual gaming world for in-game usage. However, in 2021 NFTs have found use cases beyond sports especially from celebrities who are now looking to cash on the recent NFT craze releasing different collections of their artform.

Some of the top celebrities to have indulged in NFT mania include Billionaire Mark Cuban, in the music industry, Shawn Mendes teamed up with Genie to make virtual versions of his guitar and gold ring and sell them as NFTs. Rapper Ja Rule auctioned an oil painting that once hung in Fyre Media’s office as an NFT. DJ Steve Aoki announced his first-ever NFT collection recently.

Among Sports celebrities, American Footballer and Tampa Bay Buccaneer Rob Gronkowski sold his NFT collection comprising of art from different career wins. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sold millions of dollars worth of NFT collections.
