The rise in the use of blockchain technology has opened doors for a plethora of development for online games. Cashing this rise, South Korea-based WEMADE on Tuesday taped on Crypto Rogue Games for the development of its new product.

WEMADE taps on European developer for launch of new game

Game developer WEMADE today signed a deal with European game developer Crypto Rogue Games. The deal will eventually see the onboarding of the action role-playing game (RPG) “Crystals of Naramunz” to WEMADE’s online gaming platform WEMIX PLAY.

The South Korea-based online game developer also added that a team of industry veterans based in Europe is creating the game, which offers a distinctive take on the steampunk genre. Among them is the former Creative Director of the action role-playing game “Path of Exile,” who is also well-known for creating the multi-award-winning role-playing game “Pillars of Eternity” and the sci-fi grand strategy game “Stellaris.”

New blockchain-based game to have a post-apocalyptic setup

According to WEMADE, Crystals of Naramunz is going to be a free-to-play action role-playing game inspired by Diablo 2. The game will take place in a post-apocalyptic steampunk planet centuries after the catastrophic “The Nexus” event.

Players will explore the realm of Naramunz, which is full of dungeons, ruins, and potent artifacts while assuming the roles of several heroes. Crystals of Naramunz aims to offer a robust single-player experience in addition to a multiplayer option that allows users to interact and trade in Arcadia, the Naramunz capital.
