Highlights

  • Ripple developers are adopting an AI-driven approach to identify XRPL vulnerabilities.
  • The strategy includes AI-assisted testing and a dedicated red team.
  • This forms part of plans to make the XRPL more reliable for tokenization, global payments, and institutional use.

In the latest XRP news, Ripple is integrating AI as part of its efforts to strengthen the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ‘s security, aiming to make it more reliable for several use cases, including global payments and tokenization. This comes as Ripple continues to expand its payment services, onboarding a growing number of institutions in the process.

XRP News Today: Ripple Integrates AI For Added Security

In a blog post, Ripple announced that they are adopting a more proactive, AI-driven approach to identifying and addressing vulnerabilities before they reach production. As part of the latest security efforts, the firm’s developers plan to adopt AI-assisted testing, a dedicated red team, and higher standards for code changes and amendments.

Ripple’s Head of Engineering, Ayo Akinyele, revealed that they plan to integrate AI across the XRPL development cycle. This will include regular aversarial code scanning, AI-assisted reviews on every PR, and threat modeling and attack surface mapping for new and existing feature interactions. Additionally, these developers will use AI to simulate edge cases and stress scenarios that would be difficult to generate manually.

Furthermore, Ripple has established an AI-assisted red team that will focus on continuously analyzing the XRPL codebase and how features interact in real-world scenarios. “This allows us to fully explore edge cases, particularly at the boundaries where legacy logic meets new functionality, which are often the most fragile points in long-lived systems,” the Ripple engineer said.

He also noted that the goal is to continuously strengthen XRPL’s reliability as it scales to support global payments, tokenized assets, and institutional use cases. The XRPL continues to gain traction with respect to these use cases, especially as Ripple expands its operations.

As CoinGape reported in another XRP news yesterday, Ripple will pilot RLUSD in Singapore’s MAS BLOOM initiative. This project notably explores payments using regulated stablecoins and tokenized bank money.

Why This Matters For The Network

Ripple stated that the move to integrate AI matters because of the XRP Ledger’s role in global payments and tokenization, as well as the Ledger’s complex financial primitives. As a result, the bar for reliability, security, and safety is “extremely high and uncompromising.”

Akinyele added that the stakes have never been higher, which is why XRPL’s resilience must be continuous rather than a one-time validation. As CoinGape reported in another XRP news, there have also been major XRPL technical upgrades in recent times aimed at boosting the network’s institutional adoption.

Meanwhile, XRPL validator Vet commended this move to integrate AI, describing it as “next level security for XRP for the next level of adoption.” He noted that this is an additional layer of security alongside bug bounties, codebase scans, attackathons, and a high barrier to new XRP amendments. “It’s a holistic approach to actually make protocol changes safer,” he added.
