Breaking: Pro-Bitcoin Vivek Ramaswamy Suspends Presidential Campaign, Endorses Donald Trump
Pro-crypto Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race after receiving fewer votes in the Iowa caucuses. Now he plans to support crypto-friendly Donald Trump in the presidential race.
“As I’ve said since the beginning, there are two America First candidates in this race, and I called Donald Trump to tell him that,” Ramaswamy told supporters in Des Moines late Monday after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 Iowa caucus. “Going forward he will have my full endorsement.”
Vivek Ramaswamy Reaches Out To Crypto Community
Ramaswamy also took to X to express the support he received for the presidential race and the dissatisfactory results of the primary election, where he gained only 3 delegates. He said his campaign was about “speaking the TRUTH.” The pro-bitcoin presidential candidates including Ramaswamy have received major support from the crypto community.
“The people spoke loud & clear about who they want. Tonight I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Donald J. Trump and will do everything I can to make sure he is the next U.S. President. I am enormously proud of this team, this movement, and our country.”
Donald Trump gained 2o delegates, receiving 51% of support in the Iowa caucus. Whereas, Vivek Ramaswamy received just 7.7% support from voters.
While Ramaswamy has claimed to support Donald Trump, the biotech entrepreneur presidential candidate faced attacks by Trump. In a social media post, he wrote: “A vote for Vivek is a vote for the other side.”

Vivek Ramaswamy’s Support For Crypto And Bitcoin
Vivek Ramaswamy has shown tremendous support for crypto, especially Bitcoin. In a recent debate, he calls for significant changes in the approach to cryptocurrency regulation. He argued that the current financial system in the U.S. is flawed and Bitcoin and other digital assets offer a viable alternative.
Ramaswamy especially called out SEC Chair Gary Gensler for not clarifying the regulatory status of cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, despite acknowledging Bitcoin as a likely commodity.
Elon Musk earlier endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for embracing Bitcoin donations in his presidential campaign. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson also supported Ramaswamy for his crypto rights bill. However, crypto enthusiasts consider Trump more crypto-friendly, even House Majority Whip Tom Emmer said Trump will be more crypto-friendly in second term.
