ColdStack Partners With BitTorrent to Add the BTFS Protocol to its Gateway Storage SDK

Decentralized cloud-based storage data aggregator, ColdStack has inked a partnership with BitTorrent in order to add its BitTorrent File Sharing System (BTFS) to its Gateway Storage SDK. BitTorrent is a decentralized P2P communications protocol for distributing data and large files over the Internet, and the partnership amongst other things will expand the scope of ColdStack, as it looks to provide its users with the best storage system available in the decentralized world.
Since the internet ecosystem features a ton of files being moved over the internet on a daily basis, the storage of these files to guarantee their safety and unbridled availability has been a growing problem that requires an urgent solution. While there are centralized solutions for data storage including such as those provided by cloud storage outfits Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure amongst others, the decentralized world is taking the cloud storage solutions a step further.
BitTorrent in the Decentralized Storage Services Sphere
Today, BitTorrent, based out of San Francisco is one of the few companies powering the decentralized storage innovation. With over 100 million monthly active users, BitTorrent provides a feature-rich, safe torrent program for the desktop, as well as a browser-based torrent streaming and downloading product. These products are made possible through the BitTorrent File System (BTFS), a decentralized storage system that forms a bedrock for DApss and smart contracts.
The BTFS is backed by millions of BitTorrent user nodes, and It operates as both a protocol and network implementation that lends the p2p mechanism for storing and sharing digital content in a decentralized filing system. BitTorrent is powered by the Tron Blockchain Network and it functions through its native token, the BTT.
Benefits to the ColdStack Ecosystem
As a cloud aggregation platform, the partnership with BitTorrent will give access to the tons of benefits the BTFS system has to offer. The BTFS will enrich ColdStack’s Gateway Storage SDK, a system that is designed to work as an open-source protocol and can be used independently of the core ColdStack DApp.
BTFS will be added to the growing list of decentralized storage service providers such as Filecoin, STORJ, Lambda, SIA as well as others that will be unveiled in the future. ColdStack also noted that its partnership with BitTorrent will primarily allow developers of DeFi and other decentralized services to use the unified S3 protocol to store and retrieve their files with BTFS, saving time and effort as they can utilize their familiar S3 SDK.
In all, ColdStack aims to use the partnership to help advance the embrace of decentralized innovations by creating an easy means for its users to embrace the benefits of using the BitTorrent ecosystem and its token.
ColdStack Roadmap, and other Unique Features
ColdStack is relatively in its infancy as it has yet a number of other unique innovations to be unveiled in the future. The integration of an extended set of decentralized storages, the Launch of a public beta of MVP (ETH main net), and the extended rollout of data storage features for DeFi (PoC) are on the Horizon for this second quarter of 2021.
ColdStack will be looking to build on its core decentralized storage product offering and will spice this up by serving as the main storage of choice for major Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplaces. Other unique features are billed to be unveiled as the entire project matures.
