When Spark (FLR) Token Airdrop? Flare CEO Drops Important Updates For Waiting XRP Holders
The Flare’s much-anticipated airdrop to XRP holders may have hit the ‘delay road’. However, Hugo Philion, the co-founder and CEO of Flare Networks shared some quick update for the waiting XRP holders.
Hugo Philion has stated that they are upgrading the Songbird network before the airdrop of Spark (FLR) tokens.
For all those asking where their $FLR is. We are upgrading Songbird, before the end of March 2022, with the final 2 protocols required before Flare launch. This will then allow us to proceed to Flare launch. A full roadmap to Flare launch will be release in the coming weeks.

With regards to exchange distribution of the $FLR token. We have reached out to the largest exchanges to get full definition on what they require in order to distribute the token, so that Flare meets those requirements, Philion said in a recent tweet
What is the Spark (FLR) airdrop?
Spark is the native token of the flare Network which is designed to bring utility to Flare, through collateralization of assets, data provision, governance and spam prevention via transaction fees.
Out of 100 billion Spark tokens, 45 billion will be up for grabs by XRP holders. However, the airdrop was announced in December 2020 but the distribution process has been postponed on several occasions.
As per Flare, the airdrop depends on the holder’s XRP balance on 12th December 2020, 00:00 UTC, and they were had to apply until 11th June 2021, 23:59 UTC to make their claim.
