Microsoft Build 2024: Date, Key Highlights, and What To Expect

Microsoft Build 2024 is the biggest developer event and is just around the corner, maintaining continuity this year as well. It is one of the most anticipated events for the tech enthusiast because it offers socializing, learning, and community building for similar-minded people. Moreover, the event sometimes introduces new technologies and products to the audience.
For the first time, this event took place in 2013 after its introduction in 2011, with the name Build, and in 2019, it was named Microsoft Build, which is attended by thousands of people every year. The 14th edition of Microsoft Build is to happen this May.
Microsoft Build 2024: Dates and venue
Microsoft Build 2024 will begin on May 21 at 11:30 AM (Pacific Time) and will continue for three days before concluding the event on May 24 for in-person and May 23 for online attendees. MS Build is available in both online and offline modes to offer flexibility to the attendees. The offline event is set to happen in the corporate headquarters of Microsoft Corporation in Seattle, Washington, similar to the previous years. The attending passes cost around $1,825 per person to attend the MS Build.
Microsoft Build 2024 expectations
The three-day-long event will cover upcoming events and updates from Azure, AI, windows, .Net, the Azure OpenAI Service, and anything related to software development in Microsoft. AI will be the main focus of the event based on Microsoft’s incline towards AI to the extent that the event tagline says, “How will AI shape your future?”
More importantly, the anticipation is for introducing Windows Laptops on Arm and AI Explorer in the event. The reports have indicated that the event will reveal a few Arm-powered devices that might outperform the previous best-sellers like the M3-powered MacBook Pro, and others.

Moreover, there are rumors that Microsoft is equipping Windows 11 with AI technology. Based on that, Microsoft can introduce the AI Explorer app before the event on the 20th or during the Build as a part of its main events.
Lastly, the event will focus on introducing smarter and better local copilots as people say that Microsoft will add AI Copilots in everything they can. The event will highlight the efforts on the AI improvement implementation in Copilots and expanded features, including Copilot on Edge and Copilot Plugins for 365 apps.
