Popular Singer DOJA Cat’s X Account Hacked, Here Is Why!

Crypto hacking crime has continuously increased over time. Now, not only crypto investors but celebrities are also getting targeted by these. Stars like Hulk Hogan, Metallica, and many others became victims of these crypto hackers to promote some cryptocurrency. The same has happened recently with the popular rapper and singer DOJA Cat, as her X (Twitter) got hacked. More importantly, the hackers used the account to promote a newly launched Solana Meme Coin.
In this blog, let us discuss why the DOJA Cat’s X account got hacked.
DOJA Cat Hacker Posted Supporting DOJA Meme Coin
DOJA Cat, a well-known name in the music industry, has more than 24 million followers on Instagram. And another 5.6 Million on the X platform, which became the victim of the fraudulent posts of crypto promotions. Just yesterday, her X account got hacked by cyberpunks to promote her name-inspired meme coin. The hackers use the DOJA’s account to promote a newly launched coin called DOJA and have used the followers to pump the price by displaying the singer’s false preference for the meme coin. These hacked posts entered the market around 7:15 pm ET yesterday, where the first post had a picture of DOJA carrying a knife with the caption “buy DOJA or else.”

However, this was just the beginning, as the hackers posted around two dozen such promotional content. They even took an extra effort to remove the profile picture and description of the account. The singer later used her Instagram to inform about the hacking and how she was not involved with these posts.
DOJA Meme Coin Gained A Good Push
These hacked posts gave a push to the meme coin as it surged heavily for the first hour, but that did not last long as the DOJA Cat followers suspected the possibility of a hack. The hacker has also targeted Iggy Azalea, who is quite vocal in supporting cryptocurrency, especially meme coins like MOTHER.
The hack did not meet the hacker’s expectations as the followers did not blindly follow the bait like the previous incidents. The market data revealed the low activity for the DOJA tokens despite the hacking. As per the data, only 15,000 transactions took place, generating barely a $2.2 million volume.
Solana-based meme coins’ popularity has grown heavily among investors, and so have the crypto scams hacking celebrity accounts to promote them. It has been a bad representation of the market and ruined the image of these coins despite their highly profiting nature.
