Who is JD Vance? Why Donald Trump Chose Vance As The Vice Presidential Candidate?

After the unfortunate event of an assassination attempt on the Presidential candidate Donald Trump, the voters were worried about the upcoming events. However, Trump returned for the same within two days at his Republican National Convention in Milwaukee with a surprising announcement of the VP candidate. On the Convention’s first day, Trump announced JD Vance as the Vice Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections.
This revelation came at the very last minute, as only a few months were left before the 2024 election, and the voters and competitors were waiting for the name. Surprisingly, JD Vance was offered the post just 20 minutes before the actual announcement.
Who Is Donald Trump’s Pick JD Vance?
JD Vance, or James David Vance, is now the official presidential candidate for the US elections 2024, and the running mate with ex-president Donald Trump. He is a 39-year-old Ohio Senator and is also known for his best-selling book on his own experience of rural poverty.
JD Vance is a member of the Republic Party and will be the third-youngest vice-president if he wins the elections. However, this does not even cover half of his journey, as he has lived a diverse life. Vance has graduated from the prestigious Yale Law School and has served in the Marine Corps.
All of this is achieved despite facing poverty and his mother’s drug addiction in his childhood, but he made that experience into a lesson and wrote all of his struggles in his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy,” which was the New York Times bestseller and later turned into a film.

The Marine days were a life-changing movement for the Ohio Senator as he believes this was the time that gave him a sense of purpose. After years of work in the legal and tech, Vance moved towards politics in 2021 for US Senate elections. He competed against Josh Mandel and Matt Dolan before winning over the Senate Democratic nominee, Tim Ryan, in 2022.
Why Donald Trump Chose JD Vance As Vice Presidential Candidate?
With a young man who has experienced poverty and has lived a blue-collar life, many believe it is to gain the support of other blue-collar and working-class voters. Additionally, JD Vance, despite his limited political experience, has made a name for himself in the field. He is also known to share similar views as the ex-president.

Both these have shared similar ideologies about trade, foreign policy, irrigation, and many others. Even Vance is objective of the country’s support for Ukraine.
These factors make a good companionship between these two. Ex-Preisdent has been analyzing the possible candidates for two months, and JD Vance stood out to him. As per insiders, Trump preferred JD Vance as Vice Presidential candidate because of the way he presented himself on TV, at fundraisers, and rallies. Moreover, Donald Trump has revealed that James’ diversified experience made him the choice through a Truth Social platform post.
Vance of the Great State of Ohio. J.D. honorably served our Country in the Marine Corps, graduated from Ohio State University in two years, Summa Cum Laude, and is a Yale Law School Graduate, where he was Editor of The Yale Law Journal, and President of the Yale Law Veterans Association. J.D.’s book, “Hillbilly Elegy,” became a Major Best Seller and Movie, as it championed the hardworking men and women of our Country. J.D. has had a very successful business career in Technology and Finance, and now, during the Campaign, will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond….
JD Vance Believed Trump Is An Idiot & American Hitler
Though James has officially joined Donald Trump for the upcoming election, things were entirely different in the 2016 election. Trump was running for the President and was an Idiot in James’s eyes. He was an open critic and let his criticism out in a USA Today Column. The post stated: – “Trump’s actual policy proposals, such as they are, range from immoral to absurd.”
But that was not all, Vance called Trump an American Hitler to show objection to him as President. In 2016, he posted on Twitter calling Trump “reprehensible” and voted against him. However, all that has changed since 2018 as he began to follow the ex-president and changed his opinions. In a recent interview with Fox News, JD Vance clarified the statement and said
I was certainly skeptical of Donald Trump in 2016. But President Trump was a great president, and he changed my mind. I think he changed the minds of a lot of Americans.
Final Thoughts
The opposite has become active right after the revelation of JD Vance as the Vice presidential candidate. Current President Joe Biden has called Vance a clone of Trump in a Monday interview, and that he sees no difference between Trump and Vance. With limited experience and past opinions over Trump, Vance has become a target of the critics. However, a majority of the people are thrilled to have a blue-collar person running for the election.
