XRP NIGHT Token Airdrop and Tokenomics Explained

Midnight blockchain is a privacy-focused sidechain on Cardano using zero-knowledge cryptography. It features two tokens: NIGHT for governance and DUST for transaction fees. Notably, Cardano is coming with a massive XRP NIGHT token airdrop, and the buzz extended when the founder, Charles Hoskinson, confirmed the eligibility.

At a Consensus 2025 event, Hoskinson revealed that XRP holders will receive 5% of the total supply, i.e., 1.2 billion. Notably, NIGHT will have a total supply of 24 billion, of which 50% (12 billion) is reserved for ADA holders, 20% (4.8 billion) for BTC holders, and the remaining 30% for other chains, including XRP (1.2 billion).

XRP NIGHT Token Airdrop Snapshot, Claim, and Deadline Date Explained

The snapshot for the Midnight airdrop was already taken on June 10. In that, they captured wallets carrying $100 plus XRP and supported native assets. Overall, 37M wallets across ADA, BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, BNB, AVAX, and BAT became eligible.

The claim window for the Midnight tokens is limited to 60 days only. However, the starting date remains unknown. After 60 days, all the unclaimed tokens will be redistributed via the 30-day Scavenger Mine program. However, they can still be reclaimed in the next 4 years with self-verification.

Considering the top crypto airdrops in recent years, the NIGHT token will be unlocked in 4 random phases over the year, with minimal price dumps. Amid all this, the launch date of the XRP NIGHT token airdrop is still unknown.

However, in an interview, Charles Hoskinson revealed that the NIGHT token launch date will be announced at Rare Evo (Aug 6–10). And the final distribution will happen in H2 2025 after the July delay.

What to Expect From This Midnight Crypto Airdrop?

With a high buzz and a large number of eligible candidates, the Midnight airdrop is widely considered the largest distribution ever. It not only rewards the Cardano users, but also those from other blockchains as well, including 37 million wallets.’

The hype and market discussion indicate that a major shift in investor demand is building. Experts are also eyeing this project since Charles Hoskinson has aimed for the project to become one of the top 20 cryptos in the market. If that were to happen, the token could be valued at around 41 cents.

More importantly, this will be a significant advancement for cross-chain cooperation. Now the eyes are on the launch date confirmation and token distribution, whose updates may come in August.
