What Is Cardano Valentine (SECP) Upgrade Release?

The upgrade is aimed at improving security for developers for cross-chain decentralized application (DApp) development. Essentially, security is improved with access to a range of multi-signature designs natively in Cardano.  In the backdrop of the crypto market rebounding significantly since January 2023, Cardano (ADA) recovered especially well not only in terms of price but also whale interest. By far in 2023, ADA is among the most purchased cryptocurrencies by the whales.

The mainnet upgrade was scheduled for February 14 at 21:44 UTC. The Cardano Valentine SECP mainnet hard fork will take place at the beginning of epoch 394 around absolute slot height 84844800, estimated block height 8403208. Meanwhile, the Cardano (ADA) community is excited for the upgrade, as is evident from the rise in trading volume in the lead up to the change. As of writing, ADA price stands at $0.3924, up nearly 9% in the last 24 hours, according to CoinGape price tracker. Clearly, a 9% rise shows the community pinned its hopes on the upgrade, Comparatively, Bitcoin (BTC) is up by around 2.5% after a reversal was seen post the release of the higher than expected US CPI data for January.
