Blockchain Association Urges CLARITY Act Passage on National Security Agenda
Blockchain Association sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer. The letter is signed by 160 former national security, intelligence, and law enforcement professionals in support of advancing the CLARITY Act.
The letter argues that the crypto market structure bill is a law enforcement and national security priority. Clear crypto rules to bring activity under U.S. regulatory oversight, strengthen consumer protection, and help investigators catch bad actors.
Blockchain Association claimed the crypto industry stands with law enforcement. “We support strong compliance, strong consumer protections, and strong tools to combat illicit finance. That’s why the Senate should advance the Clarity Act,” the crypto body added.
The crypto bill has key anti-illicit finance and enforcement provisions. These include expanded BSA and sanctions obligations, Treasury-led information sharing with DOJ, FBI, DEA, and the private sector, and a permanent interagency working group focused on digital asset illicit finance.
