AAX Exchange announced scaling to Russian-speaking market
Hong Kong cryptocurrency exchange AAX announced the scaling to the Russian-speaking market and appointed Anton Gulin as a country manager in Russia and CIS.
Anton Gulin took office on February 1, 2021. He previously advised corporations and investment funds on blockchain integration. In early 2020, Gulin founded a strategic consulting agency that helps fin-tech and blockchain companies scale their businesses. He was the marketing advisor to AAX from July 2020.
The appointment of a country manager is due to growing interest in the exchange among Russian-speaking users. In November 2020, 60% of AAX’s trading volume was accounted for by CIS countries. In January 2021, AAX recorded a record influx of users from the region with a 310% increase in registrations and deposits compared to December 2020.
“The exchange has seen a surge in interest in cryptocurrencies – from institutional players and users who have not traded in digital assets before. We are seeing this phenomenon in all markets, but it is particularly felt in Russia and the CIS. Most of all, users are interested in perpetual futures with settlement in BTC”, says Gulin.
As a Country Manager, Gulin will focus on business development in the Russian-speaking segment of the market:
“Our strategy is to keep a human face in communicating with the community and help traders with the exchange. We publish educational materials for beginners in the AAX Academy, and for professional traders we publish weekly reviews with the analysis of top coins”, Anton emphasises.
According to Gulin, AAX is currently negotiating strategic cooperation with the CIS market participants. The exchange intends to integrate into the region’s economic agenda to facilitate entry into the crypto industry for Russian-speaking users:
“We will continue to build strategic partnerships and strengthen AAX’s media presence. The exchange is working to localize resources and fine-tune LSEG’s Millennium Exchange trading engine 24/7. Although AAX is an international trading platform, we are planning separate activities for Russian-speaking traders”, notes Anton Gulin.
