US President Trump Declares Economic Campaign Against Iran
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that Iran had “failed to take” an opportunity for a deal to end war with the US and announced a crushing economic operation against Iran. He also warned that countries providing financial, commercial, or logistical support could face massive economic consequences.
He framed the campaign as an “ECONOMIC D-DAY,” urging allies to join in isolating Iran by targeting oil smuggling, cash transfers, financial channels and front companies supporting the country.

This extends the Trump administration’s “Operation Economic Fury” campaign after a 60-day ceasefire expired earlier this week with no diplomatic progress to end US-Iran war.
Trump claimed Iran’s navy, air force, and military factories are largely destroyed, and its currency “worthless,” leaving the regime “hanging by a thread.” Markets responded to the latest economic escalation and oil prices jumped slightly, with BTC price holding near the $69,000 level after a sharp rally.
At the White House crypto summit, President Trump hinted that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is about to deal massive damage to Iran through crippling new sanctions amid the war.
Will BTC Surge Further Despite Potential US-Iran War Escalation?
BTC price jumped more than 8% in the past 24 hours after the US Treasury doubled debt buybacks as Scott Bessent moves to steady the bond market. The 10-year yield closed near 4.64%, down from recent peaks around 4.74%.
Moreover, the 30-year yield had briefly touched levels not seen since 2007 before easing. The US Dollar Index (DXY) weakened toward the 98.8 area, its softest level in recent months despite the potential US-Iran war escalation.
BTC price is currently trading at $69,327, with a 24-hour low and high of $64,123 and $70,000, respectively. Furthermore, trading volume has increased by 171% in the last 24 hours, indicating a massive rise in interest among traders.
BTC reclaimed the 200-day SMA for the first time since November last year. It had stayed under it for roughly 270 consecutive days, one of the longer streaks on record. Also, Bitcoin broke above the key short-term holder cost basis, signaling that the bulls may be taking back control of the market.
CoinGlass data showed massive buying sentiment in crypto derivatives market. At the time of writing, the total BTC futures open interest jumped 8% to $52.17 billion in the last 24 hours. BTC futures OI on CME climbed more than 8% and almost 10% on Binance.
Polymarket data shows that 51% of prediction market participants now expect the Bitcoin price to reach $80,000 by December 31, 2026, despite no diplomatic deal amid the US-Iran war.
