Bitget Makes Professional US Stock Market Data Free
Highlights
- Bitget offers free Level 2 market data to eligible VIP users.
- Eligible users save $276 annually on traditional market data costs.
- Free access supports Bitget's Stocks 2.0 unified-access trading vision.
Bitget has made the Level 2 market data for US stocks free for the public. With that introduction, it has become one of the first trading platforms providing professional-grade market depth information free of cost to eligible users.
Level 2 Market Data Was Only Accessible to Institutions Before
Historically, institutional participants and professional trading desks were the only two entities that could access professional insights that Level 2 market data provides.
High cost of exchange data licensing was one core reason for this lack of accessibility.
Bitget, however, has now made it available to eligible users with no additional costs. This strategic decision is Bitget’s way to realize its long-standing vision to break the barriers between retail and professional market access.
Now, retail investors will also gain deeper insight into order flow and liquidity conditions.
What Does Level 2 Market Data Provide?
The Level 2 market data gives investors access to data feeds from Nasdaq TotalView and Blue Ocean market data.
Those feeds offer 40 levels of insight into bid and ask depth, depth charts, and real-time trade information across the regular trading hours, after-hours and overnight trading sessions. Furthermore, the real-time access also covers the US pre-market period.
Users who have traded enough through Bitget to get to VIP 1, or have enough assets to get to VIP 3, are considered eligible to gain access to these feeds without any cost.
Thanks to these free feeds, eligible users will save $276 annually, a cost normally associated with traditional market data subscriptions.
“We’re Eradicating the Information Gap Between Institutional and Retail Investors”: Bitget CEO
Highlighting the weakness of the traditional asset economy, Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, said that while crypto markets make financial opportunities accessible, traditional markets use high costs to gatekeep the information.
“We’re eradicating that by making professional-grade stock market data available to our users,”
said the CEO, adding that key information tools will no longer be limited to only a small segment of the market.
The Free Access Is Part of Bitget’s Stocks 2.0
The free access is the segue to Bitget’s “unified-access vision” that follows the rollout of Bitget’s Stocks 2.0. Stocks 2.0 is Bitget’s push to make tokenized equities more practical and expand users’ access to asset classes such as equities, ETFs, stock perpetuals, tokenized assets, and multi-asset trading tools.
The launch is also a part of Bitget’s goal to become a Universal Exchange that involves a singular ecosystem where crypto assets and tokenized financial instruments can be traded at the same time, and without any accessibility barriers.
By providing free access to Level 2 market data, the company has gone a bit deeper into breaking the information gaps that exist within the retail trading space.
