Ethereum Price Prediction for Weekend as ETFs Extend Ten-Day Inflow Streak

Highlights

  • Ethereum price surged above $2,600 on September 11 after an influx of inflows to ETH ETFs.
  • Analysts forecasts Ethereum price could surge to $3,000 despite rate hike concerns.
  • Goldman Sachs now expects the Fed to hike rates by 25 basis points next week.

Ethereum (ETH) price briefly touched $2,665 on September 11 amid a surge in inflows to ETH ETFs.

Ethereum’s gains followed the release of the US CPI print that fell in line with expectations. Still, Goldman Sachs warns that the Fed could hike rates at the September 16 FOMC meeting.

Despite the bearish macro pressure from the looming rate hike, Ethereum price had gained by 2% at the time of writing, to trade at $2,515.

Ethereum ETFs Outperform All Crypto Funds as Inflows Surge

Data from SoSoValue shows that inflows to Ethereum ETFs reached $216.41 million on September 11, with this being the highest inflow recorded by these products since August 27.

Ethereum was also the only crypto fund that saw inflows, with Bitcoin (BTC) and Solana (SOL) recording outflows while Ripple (XRP) recorded zero flows.

The BlackRock Ethereum Trust (ETHA) recorded the highest inflows of $148 million, while the Bitcoin Ethereum ETF had the second-highest inflows of $29 million.

The total value traded for all Ethereum ETFs also topped $2.56 billion, with this nearly equaling Bitcoin’s $2.6 billion in value traded.

Goldman Sachs Rate Hike Bet Fails to Weaken ETF Demand

Goldman Sachs has changed its tune on whether the Fed will hike or trim interest rates at the September 16 FOMC meeting.

The investment bank now says that the Federal Reserve will hike rates by 25 basis points to tame inflation after core CPI rose 0.3% month-on-month, with this being higher than the expected 0.2%.

CoinGape prediction markets also show that there is a 79% chance that the Fed will hike rates at the September FOMC meeting.

However, Goldman Sachs analyst Jonathan Shugar opines that risk assets might still gain even if this hike occurs, with this sentiment explaining why there was a surge in inflows to Ethereum ETF despite the hawkish Fed outlook.

The Bank of Japan is also expected to hike rates on September 16, with this also coming after the ECB hiked rates by 25 basis points.

Analyst Points Out $10M Ethereum Supply Wall as Whale Activity Rises

Analyst Ali Martinez on X notes that 10 million ETH traded at the price between $2,700 and $2,800.

The analyst says that whales need to push the price of Ethereum above this supply wall for the price to reach the psychological resistance of $3,000.

Martinez also opined that the recent gain in Ethereum price to $2,665 was fuelled by whales after the number of ETH transactions that are worth more than $1 million increased by 14% on September 11.

Analyst Ted Pillows also predicts that if Ethereum price can close a weekly candle above $2,550, the price could move to $3,000.

Ethereum Price Breaks Out of Consolidation

The price of Ethereum has moved above the resistance of a consolidation channel at $2,516. In August 2026, Ethereum price also closed above the resistance of a similar consolidation channel before the price gained by 31%.

If buying pressure surges and Ethereum price closes above $2,516 on the daily chart, the price could move to the supply wall between $2,700 and $2,800.

If Ethereum price continues to move higher above this supply wall, it could reach the 161.8% Fib of $3,100.

The RSI reading of 63 also supports a bullish long-term Ethereum price outlook. The RSI line that has also crossed above the signal line suggests that bulls are tightening their grip.

However, this bullish thesis could fail of Ethereum price drops below the lower trendline of the consolidation channel at $2,390.
