Zcash Price Rally to $8,100 if Zcash Gets Just 10% Share of Bitcoin Market Cap: Grayscale
Grayscale Head of Research Zach Pandl argued that Zcash can challenge Bitcoin dominance due to its privacy features, per a research note. He added that ZEC has strong odds of competing with Bitcoin’s strong network effects.
He highlighted Zcash’s financial privacy as valuable amid AI-powered surveillance, ongoing development against risks such as quantum computing, and improving cross-chain connectivity.
Zcash is powered by “intents” technology. “Zcash does not require widespread merchant adoption – you (or your AI agent) can use it as a private asset hub with universal connectivity through intents,” Zach Pandl added.
ZEC has already risen sharply over the past year but remains valued at less than 1% of Bitcoin’s market capitalization. Grayscale Research highlighted conditions in which higher market share gains could drive ZEC price rally.
He predicted that a 2% rise in market share could push Zcash price to above $1,622. Also, a 10% ZEC share of Bitcoin market cap in the next 5 years could trigger a rally to $8,100.
While noting higher risk in Zcash, Grayscale Research claims ZEC may still have significant upside. With the ongoing crypto market recovery, privacy coin is likely to extend gains.
ZEC Falls After Grayscale ETF Launch
ZEC was trading around $790, pulling back 7% after a strong weekly rally. The intraday low and high were $754.93 and $847.10, respectively. Trading volume has also dropped as investors await cues including PCE inflation data and crypto options expiry.
As CoinGape reported, Grayscale Zcash ETF began trading on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH. This marks the first U.S. ETF offering spot exposure to ZEC, after conversion of the Grayscale Zcash Trust.
ZEC futures open interest dropped by 12% to $1.65 billion in the past 24 hours. It dropped 7% on Binance, 5% on OKX, and almost 18% on Hyperliquid. However, traders have started buying back massively across the crypto futures exchanges in the last few hours.
