Dogecoin Price Forecast as DOGE Expands Into DeFi, Prediction Markets, with DogeOS Public Testnet
Highlights
- Dogecoin price is falling despite the launch of the DogeOS public testnet.
- The public testnet allows developers to create Ethereum-compatible applications on Dogecoin.
- Dogecoin ETFs marked their second-best month in September with over $3 million in inflows.
Dogecoin (DOGE) price is in focus after DogeOS launched a public testnet that brings smart contracts and Ethereum-compatible applications to the Dogecoin blockchain.
The launch has failed to drive price gains, as Dogecoin stalls below the psychological resistance of $0.10. Outflows from Dogecoin ETFs have also resumed, while open interest has dropped.
Dogecoin Launches DogeOS Public Testnet
DogeOS has opened the public testnet of a network that supports applications such as trading, lending, and prediction markets.
The public testnet went live on September 30, with Dogecoin being the accepted means of payment for transaction fees on the network, with this move expanding the utility of the top meme coin beyond speculation.
“A huge milestone for Dogecoin. Other cryptos coming off of a down market cat nap * and Dogecoin out making moves to be the only currency the world needs,” said the Dogecoin team in an X post.
The launch comes as interest towards meme coins continues to fade, with the total market capitalization of meme tokens dropping from $76 billion in October 2025 to $30 billion at the time of writing.
Dogecoin ETF Outflows Return
Dogecoin ETFs recorded $551,430 in outflows on September 30, per data from SoSoValue, as fears around the US-Iran war eased. This marked the first time that the ETFs have recorded outflows since September 2.
Still, September ended up being the second-best month for Dogecoin ETFs since they began trading in November 2025.

During the month, the inflows to these products came in at $3.16 million, with this being the second-highest monthly inflow that the ETFs have seen since the $4.07 million recorded in January.
Weighted Funding Rate Signals Bullish Positioning
Data from CoinGlass shows that the OI-weighted funding rate for Dogecoin has jumped from 0.0047% on September 30 to 0.0091% at the time of writing.

The increase suggests that long traders are willing to pay a higher fee to maintain their long positions.
Still, the long/short reading at 0.90 suggests that there are slightly more short accounts than long accounts, as the market sentiment towards the future Dogecoin outlook remains mixed.
Dogecoin Price Prediction as Resistance at $0.098 Holds
Dogecoin price is defending the support at $0.092, and it is now bouncing from that support to test the resistance at $0.098.
However, Dogecoin has faced rejection at the $0.098 resistance for seven straight days, suggesting that some traders are viewing that price as a selling point.
The RSI reading of 57 suggests that the momentum is slightly favoring bulls. However, the green AO bars are flashing a warning sign that the bullish trend is losing strength.

If Dogecoin slips again after getting to $0.098, it might move to test the support at $0.092, with an extended downtrend pushing it to $0.083.
