XRP Price Ahead of Trump Announcement Today
Highlights
- XRP price trades near $1.49 after surrendering some recent weekly gains.
- Trump’s scheduled announcement concerns steel manufacturing
- Spot XRP ETFs attracted $75.59 million despite broader market weakness.
XRP price hovered near $1.50 on September 28 during a wider market pullback.
XRP price climbed toward $1.65 last week before returning part of that advance. Its rise from about $1.41 on September 20 reached roughly 17% at the weekly peak.
The crypto market fell 1.31% to $2.85 trillion in 24 hours, primarily driven by a leverage-induced selloff. Bitcoin traded near $83,300, while Ethereum price changed hands around $2,676. Both remained below the round-number levels of $85,000 and $2,700, respectively.
Trump Announcement Today Centers on Iowa Steel Project
President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an announcement at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday. The White House schedule places the event in the Oval Office before the presidential press pool.
Reuters reported that Trump plans to unveil a proposed $15 billion steel mill in Iowa. A White House official described the project as a domestic manufacturing investment. The reported subject offers no direct connection to XRP or cryptocurrency regulation.

Policy speculation can spread ahead of a presidential appearance. Any unexpected comments about digital assets could still move prices, especially during thin or unsettled trading. For now, XRP’s immediate direction appears more closely tied to market weakness and its own technical levels.
Mesabi Metallics executives are expected to attend the announcement, according to the White House official cited by Reuters. The company plans to use iron ore mined in Minnesota to produce steel in Iowa. The plant is expected to create at least 1,750 permanent jobs.
XRP Price Prediction: Will $1.60 Return Soon?
The price of XRP faces an initial hurdle around $1.50 after slipping below that closely watched level. A recovery above $1.53 could put the $1.58 to $1.60 area back in focus. The token tested higher levels last week but struggled to retain its gains.
Support sits around $1.47, near the lower end of Monday’s trading range. A sustained break beneath that area could expose $1.40, where XRP traded before last week’s jump. These are possible scenarios based on recent trading, rather than guaranteed price targets.

Bitcoin’s ability to stabilize above $83,000 may also shape XRP’s next move. Ethereum reclaiming $2,700 could improve wider sentiment, although neither move would ensure an XRP rebound. Another round of forced selling would make a quick recovery harder.
XRP Funds Add $22.65 Million as Bitwise Leads Demand
The five U.S. spot XRP funds attracted $22.65 million on September 25, according to SoSoValue data. Bitwise led with $18.39 million, while Franklin added $4.26 million. Gate US Canary, 21Shares and Grayscale reported no inflows.

Daily trading across the funds totaled $57.75 million, while their net assets stood at $1.77 billion. Combined net inflows since launch reached $1.79 billion. Bitwise alone has attracted $677.29 million. Despite the inflows, all five funds’ shares fell, recording daily declines between 4.12% and 5.22%.
