Solana Price Outlook Eyes $130 as Alpenglow Upgrade Targets 150ms
Highlights
- Solana price holds above $120 as traders watch $130 next.
- Alpenglow targets 150-millisecond finality as devnet testing continues before mainnet.
- U.S. Solana ETFs drew record $86.67M inflows on September 25.
Solana price held above $120 after breaking the threshold for the first time since January. The token gained about 8% over the past week, extending its recovery from $75 in early August.
The top coins like XRP price, BTC, and ETH are seeing slight consolidation.
Several attempts to clear $120 had failed earlier this week, making Friday’s move a breakout.
The rally puts $130 in focus if the price of SOL maintains its position above $120. Still, the Solana price remains slightly lower this year and about 58% beneath its January 2025 peak near $294.
Alpenglow Upgrade Targets 150 Milliseconds as Devnet Testing Begins
Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade is now active on devnet, a testing network where developers can check applications before mainnet deployment. Anza announced the transition on September 25, following a successful switch on testnet a day earlier. At the handoff, the network produced its Alpenglow genesis block and retired the older TowerBFT consensus system.
The upgrade aims to cut transaction finality from about 12.8 seconds to roughly 150 milliseconds. Faster finality could help exchanges credit deposits sooner and let payment applications confirm purchases more quickly.

The handoff completed at slot 504148999: Alpenglow genesis block formed and TowerBFT is retired.

Developers have been asked to test their programs and integrations during the observation period. Mainnet activation remains pending, so the speed improvement has yet to reach everyday users’ transactions.
Solana Price Holds Rising Channel With $130 Target in Sight
The SOL price soared to $121.19 on September 26, extending a recovery visible on the four-hour chart.
The chart shows SOL rising within an ascending channel over recent sessions. The relative strength index stood at 63.09, showing continued momentum without placing the indicator in overbought territory.
The Chaikin Money Flow registered 0.09, indicating positive money flow during the advance.

Recent highs and the channel’s upper boundary place the next test around $123 to $125. A sustained move above that area could bring the chart’s $130 target into view as per the Full SOL forecast report. That would represent roughly 7.3% upside from $121.19.
The $120 level provides immediate support if Solana price pulls back. A drop below it would shift attention to the marked $115 support level.
