Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital is expanding its presence with a naming agreement with Texas Tech’s athletics department. Under the agreement, the crypto firm will become the official AI and crypto partner of the athletics department.

Galaxy Digital Signs Naming Agreement With Texas Tech

In a press release, the crypto firm announced a 15-year naming rights partnership with Texas Tech to rebrand their stadium as Galaxy Stadium starting with the 2026 season on September 5. “The naming rights agreement will create a new revenue stream at a monumental period for Texas Tech, which is coming off a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance,” the firm said.

Notably, this follows Ripple’s crypto partnership with the Kansas Jayhawks. Galaxy Digital mentioned that the agreement also makes the firm the official data center and crypto partner of the athletics department.

Furthermore, as part of the partnership, the firm’s branding will extend across Red Raider Football and the men’s and women’s basketball through digital, social and in-game features. Meanwhile, the firm will provide Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for Red Raider student-athletes through branded activation campaigns and original content, expanding visibility and commercial revenue.

“The partnership expands beyond traditional naming rights to include not only NIL support but also high-impact branding, enhanced fan engagement and meaningful community involvement across West Texas,” Galaxy Digital noted.

Mike Novogratz Comments On Partnership

Commenting on the partnership, Mike Novogratz said that Texas Tech is exactly the kind of institution they want to be aligned with. “We’re here to build alongside Texas Tech for the long term, and this is just the beginning,” he added.

In an X post, he also expressed his excitement at the partnership, stating that they plan to be in Texas for a long time and are putting down roots. The Galaxy Digital stock is down over 3% amid the announcement of this partnership.

The stock is currently trading at around $21.5, according to TradingView data. This comes amid the broader crypto market downtrend, with the Bitcoin price falling below $63,000 today after President Trump’s speech.
